COVID-19 Update for May 14: What stage one of Alberta’s relaunch means for NAIT

Posted: May 14, 2020 8:00 AM   |  Updated: May 14, 2020 8:07 AM

Yesterday, the provincial government announced that it will proceed with stage one of its relaunch strategy; with increased infection prevention and controls, some businesses and facilities will be able to resume operations on May 14, except in Calgary and Brooks.

As part of its announcement, the province indicated that post-secondary institutions will have flexibility to include in-person delivery once the existing public health order is lifted.

The move to stage one of the provincial relaunch does not change how NAIT is currently operating.

As the government phases in each stage of its relaunch plan, NAIT will assess its ability to transition our operations and do so as we are ready, while also working to ensure we look for opportunities to enhance polytechnic education, Industry Solutions and support areas.

NAIT’s phased relaunch will be carefully planned and coordinated. As we move forward, we will continue to put the health, safety and well-being of the NAIT community first.

We’ll work closely with government to ensure we continue to provide the foundation for outstanding careers while meeting the polytechnic needs of the province during these challenging times.
