COVID-19 update for March 30: New limits on use of Computer Commons

Posted: Mar 30, 2020 2:46 PM

Starting Monday, March 30, access to the Computer Commons will be limited to students who do not have technology at home. This change allows us to support student learning needs while also complying with Alberta’s new public health restrictions on gatherings of 15 people.

As a result, we have opened a second computer lab in CAT. In addition to CAT 215, a lab is open in CAT 280. Students with their own technology are asked to study at home. This will help us stop the spread of COVID-19 while freeing up lab space for students without access to technology and who need it most.

Computer Commons labs are open daily between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will be closed April 10 and 13. Please note labs are open only to the NAIT community, and student/staff ID cards will be required.

All members of our community should be mindful of maintaining a minimum of 2 metres physical distance, regular handwashing, and other safety measures to help stop the spread of the virus, as recommended by Alberta Health Services.

We appreciate your continued patience, cooperation and understanding during this challenging time.
