COVID-19 Update for February 8: Province to begin easing public health restrictions; many remain in place

Posted: Feb 8, 2022 6:31 PM   |  Updated: Mar 10, 2022 1:50 PM

Today, the Government of Alberta announced a gradual easing of some provincial COVID-19 public health measures, beginning February 9.

We are reviewing the impact these changes to public health measures will have on the campus community and will share an update as soon as possible at nait.ca/COVID19.

The health and safety of NAIT students and staff remains our top priority, and we continue to take steps to mitigate the risk of exposure to COVID-19 on our campuses and to minimize disruption to learning.

In the meantime, everyone coming to campus must continue to follow NAIT’s coming to campus checklist as well as the public health measures, including meeting NAIT’s vaccination requirements, wearing a mask in all indoor public spaces, staying home when sick and maintaining at least 2 metres of physical distance in common areas and retail spaces.

Please continue to be kind and understanding with one another as we transition through this next phase of the pandemic. Each of us will feel differently as restrictions begin to ease. Some will embrace this stage, while others will feel anxious. This is understandable, and we encourage members of the NAIT community to reach out to one another for support and to access the many resources available.

Thank you for continuing to do your part to keep the NAIT community safe.
