As we get ready to welcome students for the winter term, we want to assure you that the health, safety and well-being of the NAIT community remain our top priorities. We continue to work within provincial health guidelines to safely offer in-person and virtual classes and services.
Here is what you need to know as you prepare for winter term.
A safe, healthy campus
NAIT’s vaccine policy remains in effect. This is one of the steps we have taken to keep the risk of transmission of COVID-19 low on NAIT’s campuses and to minimize disruption to education.
Students and staff should be prepared to show your green NAIT vaccine QR code and photo ID when coming to campus.
Supporting students
As we navigate the pandemic, we are committed to providing you with the services and supports needed to make this term a success, whether learning on-campus or virtually.
We continue to evaluate how we deliver services based on the latest public health guidance and the trajectory of the pandemic. Please check the Facilities & Services page on NAIT’s COVID-19 website for the latest updates, and visit the MyNAIT portal for more information on student services, events and supports.
Managing through the pandemic
We recognize the pandemic has added stress and uncertainty to our lives and that it can take a toll on everyone's well-being and mental health. While life has its challenges, remember that you don't have to face them alone.
Please take care of yourself and those around you and be sure to access the many health and well-being resources available to support you when needed.
Safety is a shared responsibility
A reminder about uploading proof of vaccination
- Continuing Education students starting on-campus classes between January 3 and 8, 2022 are required to upload proof of vaccination through NAIT Alert by December 20, 2021.
- Apprentices must upload proof of full vaccination through NAIT Alert four weeks prior to the start of their apprenticeship program. If they enrol less than four weeks before the start of classes, they must upload their proof of vaccination within two business days of enrolment.

Staying safe over the winter break
Everyone can do their part to keep campus safe by following the provincial safety measures over the break to reduce their risk of exposure to COVID-19 and its variants.
If you become ill on winter break, stay home, take the Alberta Health Services’ COVID-19 Self-Assessment, and self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19 if advised to do so.
Stay home until you are entirely symptom-free, or your isolation period is completed – whichever is longer. If this period overlaps with the start of winter term, let your supervisor or instructor know you will be absent.
Working together to keep each other safe
Thank you to everyone for continuing to do your part to keep our campus community safe.
