To our valued industry partners and clients
I am reaching out to industry partners and clients like you to let you know we are thinking of you during this unprecedented time. The COVID-19 pandemic has us all concerned about the health and welfare of our families, our employees and communities. As we seek answers to what this pandemic means, I would like to assure you that NAIT is taking every precaution to protect the health and well-being of our communities. This is our greatest priority.
Core to our polytechnic identity is our deep connection and partnership with businesses and industries in Alberta. We know we are essential to Alberta’s economic prosperity and success. Today, more than ever, we are committed to that. While our approach to serving you may need to change during this crisis, our commitment to you will not.
We are incredibly proud of NAIT’s fully activated Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and the experts within, who are leading our response. We are working with communities and governments to do everything possible to mitigate risks and align our activities. We are doing our part to flatten the curve to stop the transmission and spread of this virus.
As of March 19, all classes wherever possible have been moved online or to distance delivery. NAIT is committed to helping apprentices by providing options to complete their training during these challenging times. Unfortunately, for apprentices who were starting programs in the next couple of months, there will be some delays. I am certain you understand that lowering the risks for students and apprentices is critical right now.
With this in mind, we will continue to serve industry and business with the apprentices and graduates that contribute to your success. As you have come to expect, NAIT graduates will be ready to meet your needs.
For our corporate and international clients, we are actively creating plans to deliver online training where possible. To our funding agencies and applied research industry partners, we will maintain the integrity of our applied research activities and the continuity of our work wherever possible.
To our many valued corporate donors, thank you for your continued trust and support. Even though the way in which our students are learning has changed, please know that your donations are being designated as originally intended.
Our entire industry teams will continue to work hard with you, supporting and responding to your most critical needs. Please reach out to your primary contact if you need our support.
For the time being, our Productivity and Innovation Centre will be closed to the public and all scheduled events cancelled.
Thank you for your understanding and for your trust. We will continue to provide you with timely updates regarding how we are responding to the changing environment. For the latest information on NAIT's response to the pandemic, please visit nait.ca/coronavirus
Together, we will remain strong and resilient.
